Sands China Ltd (01928) shares rose nearly 3%, up 2.26% at HK$11.3 as of press time, with trading turnover of HK$168 million.
Analysts at UBS noted in a research report that they expect Sands China's luck-adjusted EBITDA for the third quarter to decline approximately 7% year-on-year and about 3% quarter-on-quarter.
The firm also expects Sands China to be the only gaming operator to achieve growth in luck-adjusted EBITDA, primarily driven by gains in its middle-market business market share.
According to data released by Macau's Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, gross gaming revenue in the third quarter totaled approximately MOP 60.2 billion, down about 4% year-on-year and roughly 1% quarter-on-quarter, partially reflecting the impact of the World Cup.
UBS estimates that Sands China's mass-market gaming revenue for the third quarter will decline about 2% quarter-on-quarter, while VIP room gaming revenue is expected to grow approximately 13% quarter-on-quarter due to a higher hold rate.
