CLP Appoints Philip Lawrence Kadoorie as Co-Vice Chairman and Launches Renewables Business Committee

Bulletin Express
Oct 12

On 13 October 2026, CLP Holdings Limited (CLP) will formalise two corporate governance moves: the elevation of Mr Philip Lawrence Kadoorie to Vice Chairman and the creation of a Renewables Business Committee.

Mr Kadoorie will serve alongside existing Vice Chairman Mr Andrew Brandler under Article 135 of the company’s Articles of Association. In line with his new role, Mr Kadoorie’s annual fee rises from HK$720.70 million to HK$792.70 million for the year beginning 10 May 2026, pro-rated from the appointment date, and will further increase to HK$844.40 million from 10 May 2027.

The newly established Renewables Business Committee is mandated to oversee the development and operations of the China (excluding nuclear) and Growth Markets business units. Committee members will be compensated at an hourly rate of HK$6,000, with total fees expected to align with those paid to the Human Resources & Remuneration Committee once operating hours are finalised.

Following these changes, CLP’s Board comprises 14 directors—five Non-executive, seven Independent Non-executive, and one Executive Director—supported by six committees: Audit & Risk, Nomination, Finance & General, Human Resources & Remuneration, Sustainability, and the new Renewables Business Committee. The Board continues to be chaired by The Honourable Sir Michael Kadoorie, with Mr Brandler and Mr Philip Kadoorie serving as Co-Vice Chairmen.
